About the Artist---Zhong Qiang
Zhong Qiang, styled himself De Quen, an art graduate of
East China Normal University in 1989, held his first one-man
exhibition in 1987, which displayed abstract works of his
early realistic style. In 1992, he held his second one-man
exhibition, which exhibited blue-series whose theme is Chinese
classical spirits. His third one-man exhibition was held in
1995. It featured the theme of oriental classical humanity
in the style of neo-classicism.
About His Works
Within his panoramic conception of traditional oriental
culture, the artist presents paintings of their profundity
characteristic of the oriental nations, their implicative
charm tracing back to "Taoism", and in accordance with the
message of "Dreams of Red Mansions", reflecting the artist's
panoramic continuity and development of the national spirits.
His works and commentaries can be found in magazines at home
and abroad. It is termed as " Chinese panoramic realism".
